Insurance
HaulageMan Ltd burst onto the scene in September 2006 as the new name for all insurance connected to the Haulage & Road Transport Industries. HaulageMan will now be providing uk-trucking.net with critical insurance updates, answering questions related to insurance click the
link below and giving monthly advise to general insurance queries. We are also offering
all uk-trucking. net customers special rates on their renewals. "We found out that many hauliers
had put up with poor service levels and premiums from their current providers for, in some
cases, years, because they always received their renewal notices too late to do anything
about it" says Phil Warman who heads up the HaulageMan operation in the Dorset countryside.
Part 1 Renewals and renewal notices
"Since January 2005, the Financial Services Authority have regulated the [insurance] industry and they put certain rules in place, like, for example, having your renewal from your current provider at least 21 days before the renewal date " Phil explains; "unfortunately over 95% of
the cases we see fall outside of this, in some cases, the renewal has actually been received on the day it is due, which is totally unacceptable"."Another problem that is common place is when the renewal is received clients assume that the data held is up to date!!, do not do this you need
to check the information and make sure its correct, you have to notify your insurer of any changes not matter how small you may think they are". "This will ensure that all details are up to
date and your renewal premium is correct". "When phoning around at your renewal make sure again that the details given are correct, this will make the job of the advisor a lot easier.
"When you have been given your quotes check through the information to make sure that the
quote is like for like, the obvious one being your excess. Also another point that is often overlooked
is. the relationship between yourself and the broker/intermediary, if it doesn't feel to you like there is a relationship there then move, otherwise if a claim happens or you need some help when it
comes time to renew you will be disappointed!
HaulageMan have put various service standards in place, for example, they guarantee quotes to be returned to the client within 48 hours of receiving all the required information; they also guarantee that all renewals will be with their clients at least 21 days before they're due to be renewed; "and the client will also get their claims experience with their renewal, which is another common story we hear" says Phil, "we are confident that we will have searched every available market before offering the renewal to the client so we'll be safe in the
knowledge
that the price we offer is the best possible one we can".
